Saint Gabriel’s Parish has proudly offered Religious Instruction (RI) in the community of Athabasca for over 45 years!  Our volunteer instructors generously lead the weekly programs, bringing the light of Jesus’ ministry and building a relationship with God and our Parish Community!  

The core of our RI program is based on the Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ Religious Education program.  The program is sponsored and approved by the Catholic Bishops of Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories and developed in collaboration with Catholic educators from across Canada. It reflects the content of faith expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and follows the rationale and methodology of the General Directory for Catechesis.
